Hi! I’m Sam Nestor and I’m running for State Senate to bring my hands-on local leadership experience to Hartford and ensure that state policies work for the communities they affect. After nearly nine years in public service, including serving as First Selectwoman of Weston and on Weston Board of Eduction, I have seen firsthand how decisions made at the state level shape the ability of towns to address real challenges like rising healthcare and energy costs, infrastructure needs, and gaps in social safety nets such as SNAP benefits. I believe that while local leaders often manage the immediate impact of these issues, meaningful solutions require action in the legislature. By combining my experience setting policy and running a town’s day-to-day operations, I hope to advocate for practical, fiscally responsible policies that support municipalities and improve residents’ lives across the district.
Please help me finish out qualifying for the Citizen’s Election Program. I’m almost there! Just 25 more $5-$10 donations from folks like you who live in Westport, Wilton, Weston, Redding, New Canaan, Darien, Ridgefield or Stamford will finish out fundraising! The faster I qualify, the faster I can get to work for YOU.
For the Community I Love, For the Future We Deserve.
I enter this race as something rare: a candidate who has sat on the receiving end of state policy and knows what works and what doesn't. State leadership and municipal leadership should always be partners, but the fact is that when you’ve spent decades in Hartford, you don’t always truly have the local perspective, you don’t always look for the buy-in or the ways to help local leaders meet the moment without crushing their own budgets or changing the nature of the towns they serve. As your State Senator, I will always remember who I serve and that’s why I’m asking for your support.
